In light of recent events in which our Texas government created a path for investigating families who provide gender-affirming care to their transgender children, alongside the government banning mask mandates in public schools during the pandemic, we are offering this special dialogue to delve further into a topic which affects all in our community: the relationship between church & state, particularly when it relates to our children and families.

We will have a special guest of honor, Amanda Whisenhunt, who is a long-time friend of TCL and an experienced CPS (Child Protective Services) caseworker. She will help us understand how various policies play out on the ground. This will help us consider our faith commitments and how they intersect with our own participation in government and policy.
